Frequently asked questions

How do I connect TagSet to my storage?

TagSet uploads to any S3-compatible object storage — for example Amazon S3, Cloudflare R2, or another compatible provider. In Settings → Cloud Storage, enter your endpoint, bucket name, Access Key ID, and Secret Access Key, then tap Test Connection. You generate these credentials in your provider's dashboard (for example, an IAM access key for Amazon S3, or an R2 API token for Cloudflare R2).

Where are my credentials stored?

Locally, in your device's secure storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore). They are used only to connect to your own storage bucket and are never transmitted to us — we run no servers.

How are my images organized in the bucket?

Each image is stored under a key like <prefix>/<label>/<timestamp>_<id>.jpg in your bucket. The label becomes a folder, which matches what tools like ImageFolder expect for training.

An upload failed — what do I do?

Failed uploads stay in the Queue / History screen with a failed status and the local image preserved. You can retry them individually or all at once. Check your network and that your storage credentials are still valid via Test Connection.

Why does TagSet need camera and photo permissions?

The camera permission lets you take photos to capture, and the photo/media permission lets you pick existing images from your library. TagSet only accesses what you explicitly capture or select.

Does TagSet collect any of my data?

No. We don't operate servers, run analytics, or track usage. Your images go directly to your own storage. See our Privacy Policy for details.
